The Protector 8.5, which will patrol the fiords and open water areas around Norway’s extensive and rugged coastline, will be powered by twin 300hp Mercury Verado outboards.
The highly spec’d Protector will also carry twin Raymarine E120 navigation systems, including digital radar and digital depth sounder capabilities. The Norwegian Police boat has also been fitted with a full glass windscreen, a diesel heater to cope with the harsh weather conditions and simple cooking facilities.
Like all Protectors sold into Europe, the 8.5 was built to the European Community’s strict CE standards.
Rayglass CEO, Tony Hembrow, says the sale to the Norwegian Police comes on top of sales to US and European Police forces and Coastguard organisations.
"Rayglass Protectors are fast gaining an international reputation as being the ideal vessel for patrol work of all kinds, even in the toughest of conditions.
"The Norwegian Police patrol some of the world’s harshest waters yet they recognise that a standard Protector like this is more than capable of coping with those conditions and providing a safe, stable and practical platform for their officers.”
